Sunday's New York Times had an interesting piece about the surge in voter registrations among black voters. After the disenfranchisement of African Americans in Florida last time around, when three times as many black voters as white voters were purged from the registration records, black Americans nationwide are determined to make sure their votes are counted this time. It doesn't necessarily mean all those votes will go to Kerry--especially when you consider that Gore was so lily-livered about recounting ALL the votes in African American districts. But I'm taking it as a hopeful sign.

Hi Cathy,

I have just started using this blogging system as a temporary place to put writing. I was completing my profile and entered "A Man For All Seasons" - your name popped up.

I've had a look at some of your interesting posts - seems we're both interested in politics (and dogs). I've not quite worked-out your sand / swimming trunks thing - we may have something in common there, too!

By all means take a look at my site (with just the one item on so far)

Just wondered if we might chat on-line sometime. (I'm druidbroga on MSN or simply e-mail on

I'd be grateful if you would delete this post after taking a copy - I'd prefer it was not available to all for longer than necessary. Cheers, Uid Broga (pen name)
