TRISH WILSON posts on the case in Texas where an 18-year-old boy in Lufkin, Texas, was charged with capital murder -- that means the death penalty, folks -- for helping his 16-year-old girlfriend end her pregnancy by inducing a miscarriage.

Trish points out that use of the term "human being" in reference to a fetus and the term "fetal murder" in reference to the killing of a fetus do not imply or mean that the fetus is a person in law. In fact, she says, current law does not consider a fetus to be a person. It is a human being, but not a person with individual rights.
