Susie Madrak muses on the possibility that Patrick Fitzgerald may be planning to seek indictments under the Espionage Act, which does not require proof of intent to violate the law on identifying C.I.A. agents.
She also urges us all not to let the evasions, changes of subject, distortions, and irrelevancies emanating from the Republican spin machine distract us from the central issues: Karl Rove broke the law and endangered U.S. national security by identifying Valerie Plame as a C.I.A. agent.
