Congratulations to Monica Lewinsky, who just graduated from the London School of Economics with a master of science degree in social psychology. Her thesis topic was: In Search of the Impartial Juror: An Exploration of the Third Person Effect and Pre-Trial Publicity."

There's lots of yucking it up over this in the media and blogosphere (just get a load of Libby Copeland's juvenile whooping) but really -- is this any more shocking than the fact that George W. Bush went to Yale and Harvard, and became president of the United States? A man who never found a business venture he couldn't fail at?

... I'm not sure that there was any reason to think Lewinsky was dimwitted to begin with. She was educated at an expensive prep school and went on to a private liberal arts college. Even if one's parents are wealthy, White House internships are difficult to secure. ...
