On this day, 39 years ago, the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., was murdered on the balcony of a motel in Memphis, Tennessee. He was in Memphis to support striking sanitation workers. I could find only this one reference to the day among liberal bloggers (which of course doesn't mean it is the only one, since I modestly admit that I don't and can't read all the leftie/progressive blogs that are out there).
