Huffington Post Piece on General Pace Relieving Bush

Martin Lewis at the Huffington Post has this piece where he states that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace should arrest President Bush and relieve the President of his duties as Commander in Chief. Mr. Lewis has come up with a truly horrible idea.

I am not going to quibble whether this is feasible or possible or even whether it is, at least conceptually, justified. Mr. Bush may be, and in my opinion is, the absolutely worst President the United States has suffered in 220 years. But one-man-replacing-one-man sounds like a coup to me.

The founding fathers incorporated an Idea in the U.S. Constitution:

Article 1, Section 2 The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
Article 1, Section 3 The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.


In my opinion that is the only legal way to remove Mr. Bush and it is high time the United States Congress stepped up and fulfulled their Constitutionally mandated duties.
