Veto ?

First off, I don't want to be made a fool of and I do not appreciate being lied to. I absolutely could not, would not and definitely did not watch and hear more lies flying out of the mouth of President Bush. Kind of reminds me of a Monty Python skit, with words flying out of a cartoon mouth.

And I get tired of hearing pundits talk about the Dems being unable to override a veto. Tonight it was Tim Russert on MSNBC saying the Dems could not override.

The Dems hold about a 30 seat majority in the House. As per the U.S. Constitution all legislation having to do with the expenditure of funds must originate in the House.

Is Speaker Pelosi's hold on the majority so thin that the Dems can't pass a bill and forward it to the Senate with less funds for Iraq? And when the President vetoes the proposed legislation, pass the same bill all over again and send it to him a 2nd, 3rd or however many times they have to ??

The American public appears to be solidly behind the Dems.
