STDs

Our local newspaper is doing a week-long series on "Teen Sex: Truth and Consequences"

The 13 Sep issue has a table titled "Quick facts about STDs"

    Chlamydia

  • 29 cases age 9 and under

  • 704 cases age 10-14

  • 15,806 age 14-19

    Gonorrhea

  • 10 cases age 9 and under

  • 284 cases age 10-14

  • 5,884 age 14-19

This begs the question how are children age 9 and under getting these two sexually transmitted diseases with the emphasis on the sexually tranmitted part?
